Boo Vs. Santa…Round 1!
Because mommy has connections, we scored an early visit from Santa himself!!
He took time off from his busy preps for the big night to personally deliver Beck’s new wheels. I guess the last 48 hours of watching “Elf” really paid off!!
Beck was a little freaked out, since he just woke up from a nap, only to come face to face with the right jolly old elf.
In the end, Beck got his gangsta-lean all over the living room.

I’m pretty stinkin’ excited for tomorrow! We gave Boo another taste of Christmas-y goodness, before bedtime.
More in the a.m….

Papa still has it…kinda
Every thousand shots or so, I capture some of the old magic.
If I was really working it, it would be in black and white…
Now I just need to add that sad music from the end of “The Incredible Hulk”.
This was all part of some park frivolity…
A Very Boo Christmas…
Today, I had the unexpected joy of wrapping and placing gifts under the tree for my family. There weren’t that many and they were badly wrapped (look, I’m a Renaissance man…but no Origami master, OK!?) but dammit, I’m a dad at Christmas!
This is Beck’s second christmas but the first one he’s really going to understand what’s going on. I will, henceforth, begin sweating it starting in September. The words of Sun Tzu will ring in my ears as I plot to get the coolest toys for my l’il guy…or Ghengis Khan, by way of Conan(“Crush the other fathers..see them driven before me…and hear the lamentation of the toddlers).I really can’t wait to see how he reacts to the paper, ribbons and noisy stuff.

Hold me closer, Tiny Driv-ee…
Mommy bought Beck a wee tool kit…and that was our undoing.
He loves to fix things or “open!?”. He is specifically happy with his screw “driv-ee”. However, one day we took out a precision screwdriver…and it was all over but the eventual crying.
Now, the plastic (and safe) screwdriv-ee all but forgotten, Boo’s passion is for “Tiny Driv-ee”. He accompanies it with little pinching gestures.
Luckily, he’s pretty good about hold the pointy part down…except when running with glee. He’s a gleeful kid, so…well we’re working on it.
A couple of times a day he runs to the junk area above the washer chanting, “Driv-ee!? Tiny!”

Send FEMA…and a bippy…ASAP!
The terrible twos have kicked in, most recently in the form of abbreviated naps with dire consecquences if his cries are unheeded.
Boo casually sacrificed everyone and everything in his crib. No stuffed animal was spared in the carnage. This was what greeted mommy today.
Oh the humanity…

Dances With Strays strikes again…
When I first met My Loe, she had rescued a lab mix stray dog. Because the local shelter wasn’t a “no kill” facility, she kept the stray “until I find her a home”. Thus, she added Neko to Butterman, who she had previously saved.
Since then, it has never ceased to amaze me that she seems to attract strays. We could be in the middle of nowhere and she would find a dog or injured bird. So cute.
Anyhoo, a couple of weeks ago Laura saw a puppy in the middle of the street, it had been hit and was just laying there. My personal Florence Nightingale sprang into action and, one honkin’ vet bill later, Beck has a new playmate…
Yes, it gets cuter!
In case you didn’t catch the kooky eye…
One brown, one blue, all cute!! At least we’re keeping the labrador theme. Not sure what she’s mixed with, but it’s all manner of cute. Even when she’s peeing on the rug…or the kitchen floor…Beck’s rug…or chewing any number of things…

The wily and elusive Chrismahannakwazaaka tree
We went on the prowl for our first Xmas tree. A lesser family might go down to Home Depot and by some second rate shrub. Not this clan! We braved the wilds of Terrell,TX. Specifically the no man’s land of Lone Star Pines Tree Farm
Miles and miles of trees, untouched by man nor toddler! Calling out to be wrenched free and tossed on top of the 4Runner, like so much…well exactly like a tree. (Stupidly, we did not get a pic of the tree, bagged and tagged, on our chariot. Be “we” I mean “me”).
It started out innocently enough, hot cider on a 70 degree day, many fine farm machines and a hay ride…
…then the hunt began. Papa and Beck took point.
The smell of cold sap, I mean fear, was so thick you could cut it with a saw. Luckily, we had such a tool.
The herds of trees were dropping needles as we stalked among them…waiting…watching…until we found out victim, then Beck and Papa struck!
Deceptively hard to saw through that bugger, even with the Baby Help. Luckily, I had the help, or at least encouragement, of a few thousand ants. In the end, there can be only one…tree. Papa and Boo stand triumphant!!
So, we were not with out our injuries. Papa was ant food and Beck was assaulted by a tractor.
The wounds may heal, but the scars…oh the horror!!
“Yights”…camera….Christmas!!!
Mommy wired the tree for lights and papa defied gravity to hang the outdoor lights. Interesting work trying this on an incline and without a net…
Let the Holidays commence!! Now I must go and get prepared for the Feats Of Strength…
November Wrapup
It was cold…it was warm…We got older and had a family health scare. Oy, bring on the holidays!!
